Privacy

What we collect, why we have it, who else touches it, and how to make us delete it.

Reading this site

We count page views through Vercel Web Analytics, which records the page, the referrer, and a coarse country, browser, and device type. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and it does not identify you or follow you to other sites. There are no advertising trackers and no third-party scripts beyond it.

We keep it because we want to know which pages are read, not who reads them. That is also why there is no cookie banner: nothing here stores anything on your device to consent to.

Our hosting provider records ordinary server logs, including your IP address, for security and to keep the site running. We do not build profiles from them.

The contact form

We receive your name, your email address, and what you write. Company is optional. It reaches us as an email and is used to reply to you. It is not added to a marketing list, and it is not sold.

Client accounts

If you hold an account, we store your name and email address, and a profile image if you signed in with Google or GitHub. We store either a hashed password or the tokens from that sign-in provider. We never store your password in a readable form.

Sessions record the IP address and browser user agent used to sign in, so we can spot access that is not you. We also store your subscription status and plan, the identifiers Stripe gives us, and details of the sites we host for you.

Payments

Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our systems. We hold only the customer and subscription identifiers Stripe returns, which let us tell whether a subscription is active.

Cookies

One cookie, set when you sign in, that keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary for the client area to work. There are no advertising cookies, and our analytics sets none either.

Who else processes it

Vercel hosts the site, holds the server logs, and counts the page views. Neon holds the database. Resend delivers email, including the link you sign in with. Stripe processes payments. Each processes your data under its own terms, and we do not give any of them permission to use it for their own purposes.

Where it is held, and for how long

Data is processed in the United States. If you are outside the US, using this site means your information is transferred there.

Account data is kept while your account exists. Enquiries stay in our mailbox. Sessions expire on their own. When you ask us to delete something we do, except records we are required to keep for billing and tax.

Your rights

Whoever and wherever you are: you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email alex@starqlabs.com and we will act within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for asking.

If you are in the UK or EU. You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. We process your data to perform a contract with you, or on the basis of our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries and keeping the service secure. You may complain to your data protection authority.

If you are in California. You have the right to know, delete, and correct the personal information we hold, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. There is nothing to opt out of: we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Children

This site is for businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.
